Wakefolis or Hydro wake foiling as it can also be called is the most exciting thing that has happened in recent years in wakeboarding and surfing. Riding high above the surface is like flying on water. Ronix has a wakefoil for everyone, both for beginners and skilled riders. Complete sets or in parts.

What is Wake Foiling?
Wake foiling is a new water sport that is different, exciting and a lot of fun. Riding a wake foil about 70-80 centimeters above the surface of the water feels like super powder skiing on snow or mirror-like water. And the feeling when you succeed can quickly make wake foiling the best experience you can have on the water with friends and family. One of the best advantages of wakefoiling is that it works in all water conditions and behind any type of boat/jet ski. Foils are designed to rise above the water at a certain speed (faster for wake foils, and a slower speed for the larger surf foils) which makes it feel like you are flying or floating above the water. Modern wake foils and boards are lighter, safer, smaller and much easier to use than a for example. Air chairs. They are extremely efficient, and the beginner versions can start lifting at speeds as low as 7 km/h. Even an above water sports practitioner can quickly get up and play with the right equipment.
Brief history of wakefoil/Hydrofoiling.
Hydrofoiling comes from the early 60s and then in the form of a hydrofoil water ski. This design was patented by Bob Woodward – an aeronautical engineer. It developed over the years and soon became a water ski with a chair to sit on and a hovercraft underneath. What we call AIr chair. A few years later, a man named Laird Hamilton began riding a modified Air Chair around Kauai's North Shore. He had removed the seat part and attached a couple of bindings and rode around like a wakeboarder does today. After that came a group of big wave surfing pioneers called "The Strapped Crew" started riding the big waves like e.g. Jaws with its new foil boards. Which over time got a lot of attention, this new and fantastic way to surf/ride the waves. And development took off.
How does Wake Foil work?
Wake foil is like an airplane wing underwater. The mast is like the airplane's control knobs. With your weight distribution and body position, you can control the rise, fall and direction of the foil, like a pilot controlling a plane. Wake foils take off at relatively low speeds, with a medium top speed. It is a perfect combination for riding behind a boat. It will be stable and forgiving for beginners and more riders will be able to develop their riding as much as possible. Relatively heavy foils are good, because the weight at the bottom provides stability for the rider. Lighter carbon fiber foils, on the other hand, are faster and have higher performance, but are much more "twitchy".
The parts of the wakefoil.
The wake foil board: When it comes to wake foiling, the shape, construction and style of wake foil boards are somewhat less important than other board sports because the wake foil wing will do most of the lift. But you need a wake foil board that will work in all conditions and make it as easy as possible. Use a molded (foam) board if you are a beginner and if you are a good skater one that is fiberglass/carbon fiber if you want to develop quickly and ride a lot. Molded boards are heavier and they dampen more of the vibrations which can be good when you are first learning to wakefolie. More advanced boards (carbon fiber and surf construction) weigh less and provide more control and feel on the water. A shorter board is (depending on the shape of the board) generally slower and takes more energy to push through the water. The more surface area the board has on the water, the faster it will move across the surface. A longer foil board usually makes it easier to ride and learn, they have a stable feel. Longer wake foil boards are heavier which means you have to work harder to stay in the air, but you also get more control. It makes longer wake foil boards great for learning and the basics for the first time.
The wake foil mast: Is the connection between your board and the foil. Generally speaking, entry masts are shorter, and they are built to perform at lower speeds. Larger mast sizes are built for more advanced riders and higher speeds. The higher the mast size, the better it will work in choppy water because it allows you to be above the water without the board touching it. Wake Foil different masters depending on your skill or type of riding you are interested in: Surf or Wake. Beginner masts are usually shorter and perform better at low speeds.
Wake foil wing (wing): This is where the magic happens. The foil/wing is the part that makes it lift and because of this it is the most important part when considering buying a hovercraft board. Foils can be categorized into two different groups: Wake and Surf. Wake foils are created to function (lift) at higher speeds around 12-15 km/h. Surffoils should be ridden at lower speeds of around 7–10 km/h.
How should you maintain the wake foil?
Keep it out of the sun as much as possible. The sun damages it just as it damages the skin. Always rinse it with fresh water after use in salt water. Protect your investment with a bag for storage and transport. Store your equipment in a cool, dry place.
