Which Water Skis Should You Choose?
Water skis come in different types, each designed for specific skill levels and skiing styles. Here are the three main types:
✅ Slalom Skis – For experienced skiers who want to carve deep turns on a single ski.
✅ Freeride Skis – Stable and beginner-friendly, perfect for learning the basics.
✅ Combo Skis – Ideal for beginners or those who want to switch between slalom, jumps, and tricks.
Freeride skis are wider than traditional slalom skis, making it easier to balance on the water. Narrower skis provide more speed and control, especially in slalom courses.

Slalom Skiing & Competitive Racing – What You Need to Know
Slalom skiing takes place in a slalom course where the skier must pass through red entry and exit buoys while maneuvering around six red slalom buoys. The speed gradually increases from 37 km/h to 58 km/h (23–36 mph), and at maximum speed, the rope length shortens until the skier misses a turn.
